Meet Dr. Campbell

Ellie Walaitis Campbell, DO
Diplomate, AAFP
Dr Campbell is a Board-certified family physician with clinical interests in women's health, wellness, and complementary and alternative care. Originally a native of metro Chicagoland, she graduated from the University of Illinois in 1983, and obtained a Master of Science degree in 1984. She obtained her DO degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1989, emphasizing care for the body, mind and spirit. Retreating to a southern climate, she then moved to Georgia for her Family Medicine training. In 1992, she received the outstanding resident of the year award from the Family Medicine department at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. For the first thirteen years of her career, Dr Campbell served the uninsured of our community practicing at a community health center. In 2005 she started her own private practice. In her free time, Dr Campbell and her husband vacation with their three wonderful daughters and enjoy theater, yard work and gardening together.
The staff at CFM refer to Dr. Campbell as the "Master of the Human Jigsaw Puzzle" and feel privileged to have her as thier own family physician.
Dr. Campbell knows and understand the importance of choosing a doctor that is right for you and your family, so she invites you to visit the office for a "Meet and Greet" consultation. There is no fee for this and it allows you to make your own decision about choosing her to be your personal physician! If you choose to enlist Dr. Campbell to help you meet your health goals then another appointment will be scheduled. Please DO NOT expect to see Dr. Campbell for medical treatment during your "Meet and Greet" consultation unless you notify the office of your expectations prior to your appointment. This will gaurantee proper scheduling as we strive extremely hard to keep people out of the waiting room!
Please call ahead so we can make sure you will have enough time to "chat".
Dr. Campbell also speaks internationally on various health topics. If you would like to contact her regarding a speaking engagement, please contact the office via email at info@campbellfamilymedicine.com
Dr. Campbell has recently publlished and article in Living Without magazine (April/May 2009 edition) and worked with Dr. Jim Roth to coordinate an article in Points North magazine. Both of these articles outline the truth about vitamins and supplements and the impact they can have upon your health. Dr. Campbell will also be speaking this April at a Functional Medicine conference. She will be a key note speaker on Metabolic Syndrome.
Read About Our Staff
Natalie Patierno, CLE
Natalie comes to CFM with a 10 year background in natural and holistic healing and an incredible understanding of body composition. She works closely with Dr. Campbell and other area physicians. She is our Certified Lifestyle Educator and manages a program called First Line Therapy.
Natalie joined CFM in July 2007 and has proven to be an asset to the practice. The patients are loved and guided through their lifestyle changes as outlined by Dr. Campbell or the referring physician. She understands that this is not an easy transition and uses an organized program that includes body composition testing to assure compliance. Our patients comment that having Natalie to "hold their hand" while they learn to implement these necessary changes makes all the difference in the world as compared to just being told what to do.
Natalie has some great ideas when it comes to stress management and helping you relax is one of her favorite activities. A large portion of her patient population is referred for stress managment and stress reduction techniques. In the office patients are taught how to breathe deeply, relax muscles, change thought patterns and recognize and correct stress responses.
Natalie also handles the weight loss program in our office and has had tremendous success with patients looking to achieve healthy weight loss with lasting effects. She works with local personal trainers and other life coaches to help clients meet their health and wellness goals. Many of her patients come here frustrated after not achieving the results they desired with other diet or weight loss companies. She would love to share her story with you as she has her own success under this program which gives her motivation and purpose to continue helping others.
Natalie charges $100 per hour. You can schedule time with her during office hours.
Benita Farmer, LPN
Benita is a wonderful addition to CFM. She is an intregal part of the daily routine. She has been involved with the medical field for many years and has been a nurse for over 25 years. Benita recently became certified in the First Line Therapy Program also. Benita and Dr. Campbell have been working along side each other for 14 years!
The patients count on Benita to assist with labs, triage, administering of medications and injections and much more. Benita's warm smile and caring ways are what you will remember and we have been told by our patients that she is the best at venipuncture!
Benita stays very busy handling appointments and refill requests as well as assisting Dr. Campbell so if this is your need-please call the office and one of us will help you.
Tammy Satterfield, Front Desk Coordinator
Tammy comes BACK to us after moving home from Colorado. She is glad to be back and even more excited to have been rediscovered by Dr. Campbell. Tammy was part of the team when Dr. Campbell and Benita worked with Georgia Highlands. She worked along side of Benita and Dr. Campbell for over 12 years!
Tammy will be handling all of the front desk tasks including scheduling, answering your phone calls and taking messages, check in and check out and data entry.
Her warm smile and personality are something that will leave a lasting impression on all those who have the chance to meet her.
