Campbell Family Medicine
Many patients have come to love and depend on email and texting as a primary method of communication. We appreciate the convenience as well. It is a great way to handle NON EMERGENCY situations.
Unfortunately unlike telephone or face to face visits where there is 100% probability that messages are communicated, the "connect" rate is not as high with e-communication. We have seen so many lost emails, messages hung up on the server on either side of the equation, sent texts never received, sent messages "bounced back," web hosts not delivering messages in a timely fashion (if at all), and then just plain oversights.
It is our intention to answer each and every concern.
It is important for us to document all the medical advice that we provide, so being certain to capture all the concerns is critical.
We never want to replace email for formal office visits to manage care, or for the quick human voice of reassurance, but in a some circumstances, email can be a fast and effective means for handling minor concerns.
We have been trying to figure out all the little "glitches" with our operations, policies and procedures. It is certainly our intention that you have the best possible experience with CFM. We appreciate your feedback as this allows us to make changes to better serve our patients.
Our office hours have always been 8am to 4pm. However, Dr. Campbell is often here until late at night answering messages and emails so it is quite possible that you have gotten a call after hours. Scheduled appointments are reserved during office hours and we will be happy to set something up for you during that time.
Our CFM email has not been as easy to manage as we thought. It is still in transition and many of our members are still using the old as well as the new email address. Some messages are being delivered to Dr. Campbell's Blackberry and some are not. She gets somewhere between 15-50 emails per day and as wonderful as technology is, it is not foolproof so missed messages are not out of the realm of possibility. So, if you do not get a response in 36 hours then please send Natalie a copy of the message marked "URGENT" and she will print it for her or feel free to call the office at (678) 474-4742.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ellie Campbell
